Rev. Bill Powis
"Just a kid from Akron". I'm sure you've heard that before. But that's my story. The last thing I ever thought I would be doing was starting churches. And yet, here I am, or rather, here we are. I am Pastor Bill Powis and my wife is Patty. We're both "kids from Akron", Ohio born and raised.
Our spiritual journey began at the Chapel in Akron, Ohio. I was a burned out musician in search of a reason to live and Patty was a really nice, religious girl who would never have given me the time of day in my former life.
And then 'it' happened. Yes, we both met Jesus Christ at the Chapel. So, we have been following Jesus our whole married life and starting churches.
That's where YOU come into the story. We are a new church in Strongsville, Ohio and we want you and your family to join us wherever you may be in your spiritual journey.
Rev. Jason Piteo
I was born and raised in Cleveland and loved baseball, math, science, and computers as a kid. Those interests led me to study Information Systems at Purdue University, from which I gained a bachelor’s degree and, more importantly, my amazing wife Jill. We’ve been married since 2000 and have five children ranging from teens to toddlers.
It was during my years in the business world, as an owner of a small IT business in the Cleveland area, that I met Jesus with true faith and repentance. I became addicted to the Bible instead of video games as before. After being baptized, growing in grace, and serving the church for a few years, I sensed the call to ministry and perhaps to plant churches. With my wife and (at the time) two kids, we moved to Charlotte in 2010 so that I could study at Reformed Theological Seminary. The Lord directed us to a strong, Christ-centered, church planting church. There, I gained valuable ministry experience and learned how to be a good husband and father.
After graduating from seminary in 2013, I was ordained in the PCA and my family and I answered the Lord’s call to plant a church in East Charlotte. There, again, the Lord refined me as a pastor and as a man. Now, I enjoy time with my family, Cleveland sports, Premier League soccer, disc golf, astronomy, astrophysics, and reading. In 2019, the Lord began to align my heart toward a new call to plant a church in Cleveland. My family and I are excited to proclaim the good news of Jesus to our old city! Our prayer is that the Lord would use us to build a network of Christ-centered churches in the Cleveland area, starting in the suburb of Strongsville.
